Project Preparation

Project Preparation
  • Professional project managers communicate with you to determine the document format, language information, subject area, workload, project instructions, style requirements, delivery deadlines, delivery formats, and existing resources, such as termbases and translation memories.
  • According to the varying characteristics of each project, project managers work with the resource department to select the translators with the relevant background and experience and ensure the most appropriate resources are chosen to meet the quality requirements and delivery date. We also create a discussion group for project team members to improve communication.
  • We encourage clients to adopt the appropriate CAT tools to establish a translation environment based on the document format. We communicate with you, obtain reference material, create a team to discuss problems, and find out possible solutions to predictable problems.
  • If not provided by the client, we extract and create a glossary, which we submit to you for approval before the project is started.
Project Implementation
  • The TEP process is used to transform the document from the source language to the target language. Each step is undertaken by a different translator to ensure optimum comprehension and fluency.
  • We conduct quality control at every stage of the project. We discover and solve problems in a timely manner via spot checking and project meetings, correcting and adjusting resources as needed.
  • During implementation of the project, constant communication is maintained, and team members work together to ensure consistency of terminology and style. If we encounter problems that need to be run by you, we use a standard query log to record the problems and submit them to you periodically.
  • We use QA tools to check the files before the next step to avoid low-level errors.

Project Delivery

Project Delivery
  • The project manager delivers the required documents to you on time.
  • We back up the documents and update the translation memory and termbase with the final version.
  • If you provide feedback that requires changes, the project team updates the document and delivers it again. The translation memory and termbase are also updated.
  • We organize a project summary meeting to discuss the specific project instructions and summarize the project experiences.
Chinese dialects

Many of our clients find it difficult to decide which Chinese dialect to use. One of the questions that often come up is whether Hong Kong Traditional Chinese is the same as Taiwanese Traditional Chinese? Furthermore, mistakes are often made when specifying Cantonese as a target language. So, what are the differences between these languages?
