On May 12, 2008, Sichuan was hit by the most destructive and widespread earthquake in the history of modern China. The magnitude-8 earthquake caused great damage in Wenchuan and Beichuan. There was complete devastation after the earth shook and mountains and rivers shifted. Many people lost loved ones in the disaster.
After hearing the news, iLen acted without delay to organize a donation drive among its staff. Within a few days, it collected almost RMB20,000.
